ASIS Omaha Chapter 59
Advancing the Security Profession Statewide

Chapter Chairperson Welcome to the Omaha Chapter 059 of ASIS International.

Our chapter serves the greater Nebraska area and adjacent western Iowa.

The purpose of this site is to share useful information about security practices, and materials concerning security issues and solutions. Our members, corporate executives, consultants, attorneys, federal, state, and local law enforcement will find the information contained in this site useful in understanding the constant changes in security issues and solutions.

We are dedicated to supporting free communication between professionals, increased networking, enhancement of professionalism in our industry and sharing of valuable and interesting links found on the internet. We hope that you find this web site interesting and informative and we encourage you to participate by alerting us to other interesting or useful places that you find on the world wide web.

It is the goal of ASIS and this Chapter to serve as an active resource for information on various security and management skills by exposing members to all disciplines so they can become key players in the modern business environment.

For 2009, your Board has planned a schedule of interesting monthly programs, a CPP certification study group, chapter sponsored video educational forums (to keep the costs down by pooling our collective resources), and great networking opportunities.

At the beginning of this year, we surveyed our membership as to their interest in various program topics. The survey listed the following top five topics in order of interest:

1) Workplace Violence (87%)
2) Legal aspects of Security (71%)
3) Physical Security Systems (67%)
4) Terrorism (66%)
5) Disaster Planning (63%)

We will again be sponsoring a scholarship for one or two college students, and hold our Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon in October 14, 2009.

I hope you will take advantage of the many activities of our chapter including our monthly luncheon meetings.

If you are not already an ASIS member, now is the perfect time to join! Here are some of the benefits of an ASIS membership:
